Maude Fealy

Does anyone else out there in blogland find Maude Fealy fascinating as I do?  Ever since I saw this photo of her on a collage sheet ages ago, I always wondered who she was.  She's stunning isn't she?

A few months ago I came across the same photo with her actual name.  I, of course, had to Google Maude Fealy!  Maude Fealy, actually Maude Hawk was an American stage actress born in Memphis, TN. in 1883.   You can read more about her here.  More lovely photos of her here.  This is a collage piece I just finished with 3 photos of Marvelous Maude!  Thanks for looking!

Old Forgotten Projects

It feels great to get old forgotten projects done!   I found 3 round and gold frames that I bought at the flea market 2 years ago and a little Maya Road chipboard book that was part of a scrapbook kit that were both in the basement.  I painted the frames and the book and made both into something pretty.  Of course the hubby had to ask who the people were in the pictures.  People just don't understand that some of us out there love old photos and vintage ephemera!  LOL!

Finished Projects

Hi all! Just posting some finished projects.

I found this adorable card in a St. Augustine store.  I love the mermaid and the quotes.  I glued the card onto a canvas board that I painted and stenciled.  I also added the starfish, sticker and trim.

Another collage wall hanging.  Vintage bunny ephemera and old photo sleeve.

Rhonda, who is a fellow member of the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group, recently sent me this box filled with snips and bits goodies.  I love how she decoupaged the box, so I just went ahead and gave it a purple wash and added all of the pretties.  This would make a lovely tea box don't you think?

Snips and Bits

Hi all!  I participated in a snips and bits group hosted by Rhonda at the Marie Antoinette mail art group and wanted to post what I created.  Snips and bits are lovely little things like fabric, buttons, paper, ribbon, charms that you basically just put together into a strip or strips.  No rules, no planning!  I basically sewed my fabric, ribbon and lace together and just layered everything on top.  So cute!
