Taking Some Time Off

Hi everyone.  I'm going to be taking some time off from blogging, except to post Design Team pieces that I create for Lunagirl Moonbeams.  My father has suffered a stroke and is very ill right now.  I'm not sure how long he'll be in the hospital for.  The road to recovery is going to be long and myself, sister and brothers have a ton of stuff that needs to be figured out.  My dad is only 70 and it breaks my heart to see him lying in a hospital bed looking so frail and old.  I guess we never think of our parents being "old" right?  It seems like yesterday that my parents were riding on rollercoasters, taking us kids camping and hiking up to Chimney Tops in the Smokey Mountains not one but two days in-a-row!   Of course we complained and whined that first day and stayed behind the second day to swim in the motel pool.  Yep, back-in-the-day parents could leave their kids behind at the motel and not have Child Protective Services come looking for them !  LOL!  Anyway, I'll still be visiting your lovely blogs off and on and hopefully have time to create, since that takes my mind off of things that I tend to ruminate over.  Best wishes to all of you wonderful people and I'll talk soon!  Hugs and blessings!

Hi Kelly, oh I am sorry to hear this huni.
I know what's it like as my mum declined very quickly from a fall which exacerbated a pre existing heart problem. It shocked me that she got so bad so quick and there was nothing I could do to help. She had open heart surgery three weeks ago and she was moved to a health care home yesterday and they think she may be out in two weeks. They are looking after her and working with her to get her moving and well again.
Your dad is in the right place and I hope and pray things will improve for him and quickly. It is amazing what they can do these days and how quickly they can help and get peeps back to better. Take care sweet lady and know you and your family will be in my thoughts Karen xx

Oh Dear Kelly, so sorry to hear about your Dad, I will pray that he recovers from this, I know how hard it is to see him like that I went through the same thing with both my parents, just keep a positive attitude when around him and keep him thinking in a positive way that is half the battle with strokes. Take care my friend!

Oh dear Kelly, I thought I left a message here sometime ago, but I do not see it. I had been thinking about you and stopped to visit. I want you to know sending prayers for your dad and your family. It is a hard road to deal with. My sister's DH had a major stoke at 58, (Now 8 yrs ago). if he would not have been visiting in MPLS he would not be with us. After a year of rehab, he cannot talk and has right side weakness, but can do all he needs to by constant exercise and teaching himself left handedness. It changed all of our lives. It is a lot of strength, patience and love that gets you all through. My very best wishes to all of you and may God Bless you .
